Teeling Single Grain Whiskey – 70cl

Teeling Single Grain is a grain whiskey, it is column distilled from a mash of multiple grains, and the whiskey is fully matured in Cabernet Sauvignon casks from Napa, California for “just under” 6 years. It is then bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring at 46% ABV.

Recently Awarded World’s Best Grain at the World Whiskies Awards, 2014, this whiskey is one of only handful of Single Grain Bottling in the world. It is fully matured in Californian red wine barrels resulting in an intensely fruity and, beautifully amber liquid, with distinct lush berry notes.

It is made using an unconventional mash consisting of 95% corn and 5% malted barley that has been triple distilled and matured exclusively in French oak Ex-Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks from California, producing a truly unique Irish whiskey

This mash is almost entirely corn-based. The 95%+ corn base imparts a distinctly sweet flavour profile and The Process of column distillation provides a light, soft, neutral base to layer flavour through unique barrel choice in the next step.

On the nose, it is Young with fresh fruit notes of green apple, kiwi, and grape jam; Light but sweet vanilla frosting, and only a faint “vodka” note.

On the Palate, it has a Soft and syrupy body, big flavours of coconut, Faint hints of grape but without any red wine tannin.
